前置詞を一つずつ攻略するコーナーを始めます。記念すべき第1回は against です。
(1) 反対の against「……に反対して」「……に背いて・逆らって」「……に不利で」
I'm against the plan.「私はその計画に反対だ」

gainsay「否定する」※普通は否定文で使う
There is no gainsaying that... = There is no denying that...「……ことは否定できない」
