I know how you feel「気持ちは分かるよ」はGoogleで3400万件ヒットしました。
much of a...「大した……」や something of a...「ちょっとした……」という言い方に慣れましょう。
He is something of a musician.「彼はちょっとした音楽家だ」
That's not much of a problem.「それは大した問題ではない」⬅️これが答えです。
(2) John will be late for the first game, so we'll just ( do, have, make, to, with ) ten players.
do without...「……なしで済ます」というのを習ったことはあるでしょうか。逆に do with... は「……で済ます」です。「塩🧂なしで済ます」とか，逆に「塩で済ます」というのをこれらの表現で言います。更にこれらは，make do without...，make do with... と言うこともできます。
so we'll just have to make do with ten players.「我がチームは10人の選手で済まさねばならない」が正解です。
(3) His official position hasn't changed, but actually he isn't ( as, as, before, in, involved ) our decision-making process.
as ... as before「以前と同じほど……」と，be involved in...「……に関わっている」が組み合わさったもので，それほど難しくはないでしょう。in の目的語がカッコの右に続いているので，in がカッコ内で最後に来るように置き，
he isn't as involved as before in our decision-making process「彼は以前ほどは決定過程に関わっていない」
が答えです。as before を in の前に割り込ませるのがポイントですね。
(4) She can't come to the phone. She is ( in, middle, of, right, the ) her work.
In the middle of...「……の真ん中に，最中に」は分かるでしょうから，あとは right の位置です。この right は副詞，副詞句の直前に置いて「まさに，ちょうど」と強調する副詞です。例えば in front of A「A の前に」→right in front of A「A のどまん前に」です。
She is right in the middle of her work「彼女は仕事の真っ最中だ」が答えです。
(5) You're not making any sense --- ( is, it, that, what, you ) want?
まず It is ... that ～の強調構文（分裂文）を理解しましょう。
詳しくは上の記事を見てほしいですが，簡単に言うと It is ... that ～「～なのは……だ」というのが分裂文です。
It is money (that) I want.「私が欲しいのはお金だ💰」
It is time (that) I want.「私が欲しいのは時間だ⏳」
この「お金」や「時間」の部分を，「何であるか」問うてみましょう。
money, time のところを，「何？」=what? に変えて下さい。
It is what? (that) you want「あなたが欲しいのは何ですか？」
→what を文頭に，疑問符を文末に
→What is it (that) you want?「あなたが欲しいのは何ですか？」
疑問文は倒置が必要なので it is が is it になっています。また疑問文における倒置は一回きりですから，❌What is it (that) do you want? は間違いです。
You're not making any sense --- what is it that you want?「何が言いたいのかさっぱり分からない。あなたが欲しいのは何なの（一体何を望んでるの）？」
が答えです。
